The Bible is God’s word. Written by inspired men over centuries, the word of God perfectly displays the nature of God and His plan for mankind. We offer studies of God’s word for people that are new to the Bible. Let us know if you need help starting to learn about the Bible.
The Bible has two distinct testaments. The Old Testament (Or covenant) was through the Hebrews, and the New Testament is the introductory of Jesus Christ to the world. The coming of Jesus Christ was foretold throughout the Old Testament.
“In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.” – Book of Hebrews in the Bible, Chapter 1, Verses 1-2
Why we follow the Word of God:
God’s word is perfect. The message is consistent throughout the many inspired writers and prophets. The word also matches history, archaeology, science, mathematics, social thought, prophecy, and other measurements. Take the principles of the Bible and apply them in your life. You will see that the principles of the Bible work just as well as they did when written.
What the Bible says about itself:
- John 17:17 by Jesus Christ “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.”
- 1 Timothy 3:16 by Paul the Apostle “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;”
- Psalm 119:105 by King David (Jewish King) “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
- Deuteronomy 8:3 written by Moses “And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”
- James 1:21 by James “Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”
- Isaiah 55:11 by Isaiah a Jewish prophet “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”
